Drinking leads to threats and arrest

A night of drinking and threatening people has resulted in charges against a Parry Sound man.

On Thursday, June 11at 12:30 a.m. Almaguin Highlands OPP were called to a Spring Hill Road home in Ryerson Twp., just west of Burk's Falls,  regarding a drunk who was threatening other people.

Police investigation revealed that the man had been drinking that evening and had become agitated and was asked to leave the residence. 

Once outside the home, he started threatening to hurt the others. 

Police arrested and charged Mark Alexander, 37, of Parry Sound Ontario with:

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Two counts of uttering threats - cause death or bodily harm

Alexander was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday August 27 in Sundridge.

Police did not reveal what the weapon was.
