Kannegiesser, Dorothy (Dot) Oct. 2, 1924 – Dec. 8, 2014  - Dot Kannegiesser, age 90 and after a lengthy illness, passed away peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Centre the morning of Dec. 08, 2014. She is survived by her daughter Judy, sons Gordon and Sheldon and grandsons Brett and Jameson. Dot was born in New Waterford Nova Scotia to Jack and Christie Macleod. She met and married Gordon Kannegiesser Sr. during World War II while he was stationed with the Canadian Air Force in the Maritimes. Dot will be forever remembered for her awesome, positive attitude, quick wit and joy for life. She loved ice skating, dancing and even the occasional hockey brawl, but only if she was in the middle of it. Dot best portrayed the expression, “the only difference between a Pit bull and a hockey mom is lipstick.” Having worked 30 years for Bell Canada she often expressed how much she loved her job.

Words can’t express the families heartfelt appreciation for the professional competence, personal care and compassion provided by Dr. Richard Trenker and the entire nursing staff and support teams at the NBRHC. Each and every one of you is truly exceptional, not just because of what you do, but because of who you are! Be Proud … your lives have made a difference! Thank You! “I long to accomplish a great and noble task, but it is my chief duty to accomplish small tasks as if they were great and noble.” (Helen Keller)

A celebration of Dot’s life will be held on Tuesday Dec. 16, between the hours of 2:pm and 4:pm at Bethel Gospel Chapel, located at 1710 O’Brien St., North Bay. Arrangements entrusted to HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES. Online condolences can be made at www.hillsidefuneral.ca
