West Nipissing police are searching for a second suspect in the theft of a donation box in that community yesterday evening.

Police responded to a theft complaint from the A&W restaurant on Front Street. A male and female were in the restaurant and stole a donation box containing cash. The couple fled before police arrived.

One of the suspects has been identified and police are investigating to locate the second person.

Meanwhile, on March 27 police received two separate calls of shoplifting from the LCBO store in Sturgeon Falls.  In each occurrence, a woman stole a bottle of alcohol from the store.  Police have identified the two suspects in the thefts and charges are pending.

And also yesterday, a resident from the Railway Street area contacted police to report a theft from his vehicle overnight.  A phone charger was stolen from his vehicle.  Police want to remind the public not to leave valuables in their vehicles and ensure the vehicles are secure when left unattended.
