Domestic Violence Stats for the Month of September 2014

 

Over the month of September 2014, the North Bay Police Service charged 42 people for a total of

90 offences. Police also requested three arrest warrants during this period.

 

25 males were charged for a total of 62 offences, of which:

  • three were for threats;
  • 17 were for assault;
  • one was for sexual assault;
  • three were for assault with a weapon;
  • one was for forcible confinement;
  • one was for criminal harassment;
  • one was for robbery and theft;
  • seven were for mischief;
  • 28 were for fail to comply or breach of recognizance or fail to attend court.

13 females were charged for a total of 20 offences, of which:

  • nine were for assault;
  • one was for threats;
  • one was for assault with a weapon;
  • one was for public mischief; and
  • eight were for fail to comply.

Two cases resulted in dual charges against both male and female persons for a total of eight offences, of which:

·         three were for assault;

·         one was for public mischief;

·         one was for breach of conditional sentence; and

·         three were for fail to comply.

Take the pledge to end domestic violence

In an effort to put an end to domestic violence in our community, the North Bay Police Service has partnered with the City of North Bay and Nipissing Transition House to engage the citizens of North Bay to be part of the solution. As of today’s date, 2142 people added their names to the oneplege.ca campaign. Our goal is to reach 20,000.
