Dog bite complaint in Sturgeon Falls

On April 23, at 8:55 a.m., Nipissing West OPP officers responded to a dog bite complaint on Railway Street in Sturgeon Falls.  

Investigation revealed a person was out walking when a dog came out of a residence and attacked.   

The pedestrian was treated at the hospital for minor injuries.  

On May 2, as a result of the investigation, officers charged the dog owner, a 34-year-old person, from West Nipissing with "Owner of Dog - Fail to Prevent Dog from Biting or Attacking a Person."

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on September 21 in West Nipissing.
