Doctor, nurses receive Golden Heart Awards

'Skills of the masked individuals who provided care during my operation, you should know that because of each of your contributions, my surgery was a success!'

Dr. Kevin Gagne and Dr. Michael Creech were recently recognized with a Golden Heart Award for their outstanding care through a Grateful Family donation to the North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation.

"Compassion from the 'patient whisperer', Dr. Gagne, with his tone, words, cadence and body language, melted my nerves away. Dr. Creech radiated confidence, calmness, and kindness. This is precisely what I needed," wrote patient Karin Dreany.

Also recognized with Golden Heart Awards were the day surgery nurses.

Sandra Rueter, RN; Rodney McCarthy, RPN; and Jennifer Ferguson, RN, were recognized for their outstanding care through a Grateful Family donation.

“Skills of the masked individuals who provided care during my operation, you should know that because of each of your contributions, my surgery was a success!” wrote Dreany.
