David Dino White kicks off new tour Saturday

Local singer-songwriter David Dino White kicks off his most ambitious tour yet this Saturday night at the North Star Diner on Algonquin Ave., in support of the deluxe edition of his 2016 EP Hair of the Dog.

The reissued EP, available digitally and on limited edition coloured vinyl, features the brand-new track “No Honor” recorded last summer by local producer Ben Leggett. The single found White and his band back in the studio after a successful run of full band shows that included stops at several festivals including UpHere, Windsong, and Summer in the Park.

The new tour eschews the band in favour of a simpler approach: just White, his guitar and a drum.

“Tourski,” as White has dubbed his Western Canada jaunt, sees the artist trek across Canada to destinations as far reaching as Vancouver, BC and Mount Baker, VA, where he plans to not only sing but hit the slopes as well. “I couldn’t be more excited to get to explore Canada this winter,” says White. “It’s a daunting task because the country is so big, but I’m looking forward to sharing my songs in new places.”

White performs this Saturday at the North Star Diner (348 Algonquin Avenue) from 7 pm. Tickets are by donation -- and gas cards are accepted.

David’s new single “No Honor” can be streamed at daviddinowhite.bandcamp.com.
