Yesterday, shortly after 8 p.m., OPP Thessalon officers, responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a car and a bicycle on Highway 17, in the Municipality of Huron Shores.
A female cyclist was westbound on Highway 17 when she was struck from the rear by a westbound car.
Amy Jaye Willson, 31, from South Africa was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem will be conducted at a later date.
Highway 17 re-opened at 5:33 a.m. today.
The OPP Technical Collision Investigation team and with the help of the Algoma Paramedic Services assisted at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
