Credit cards used in Huntsville fraud

Huntsville OPP has learned that there have been other similar incidents reported to communities outside of Huntsville, including the Almaguin Highlands area.

In October Huntsville OPP were made aware of fraudulent activity involving credit cards and the purchase of large bundles of lottery tickets.

An extensive investigation led to the arrest of three people.

Corinne Butler, 38.

  • Seven counts of fraud under $5,000 
  • Property obtained by crime
  • Two counts of laundering proceeds of crime

Raymond Cannon,38.

  • Six counts of fraud under $5,000
  • Laundering proceeds of crime

Stephen Hall, 39.       

  • Three counts of fraud under $5,000
  • Fraudulent use of credit card
  • Two counts of failing to comply with a probation order

The suspects are not residents of Huntsville but have been frequenting the area since October. 

Police are advising local business owners that there may be outstanding offences that may have taken place in their stores. Anyone with similar events involving purchases of large bundles of lottery tickets or other items please check your surveillance cameras and confirm the frauds and contact Huntsville OPP to assist in furthering their investigation.
