COVID causes Capitol Centre to reschedule concerts

'The Capitol Centre is adhering to the extended COVID-19 Stay Home order and is therefore unable to stage and stream these events during the next two weeks'

Some of the Capitol Centre's new North Bay Live concerts, the first of which was scheduled to take place on February 23rd, have now been postponed.

"The Capitol Centre is adhering to the extended COVID-19 Stay Home order and is therefore unable to stage and stream these events during the next two weeks," says a news release.

The concerts affected by this provincial directive have been rescheduled as follows:

  • March 23, 2021, 8:45pm                 Shawn Sasyniuk - Francophone focused Concert

"As soon as the new extension was announced on Friday, we reached out to our performing artists to negotiate new concert dates because we simply cannot have them in the building until the lockdown lifts. I'm pleased that they were all gracious enough to work with us on new performance dates! " said Dan Misturada, Interim Executive Director . " The concerts will be streamed live from our stage to our Facebook page on March 9th, 16th, and 23rd. We are providing these concerts at no cost for people to enjoy, and more information can be found on our website."
