West Nipissing police are investigating a complaint of counterfeit money after a resident came forward saying he had received two $50 bills in exchange for smaller denomination bills.
The fraudster provided the victim with an excuse as to why he needed smaller bills, so the complainant provided him with Canadian $20 and $10 bills, in exchange for the two fifties.
When examined closely the victim discovered some anomalies and reported the incident to police.
The matter is under investigation
