Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de l’Ontario (CSPNE) held its organizational meeting on December 1st, in North Bay.

During the inaugural meeting, Board members elected the executive which is comprised of the Chair and Vice-Chairs.

The outgoing Chair, Denis Labelle, was re-elected Board Chair.

"Labelle, a trustee representing West Nipissing, was very pleased to have the support and recognition of his colleagues who have entrusted him with his seventh mandate as Chair of CSPNE," says a news release.

He will be supported in his duties by first Vice-Chair for CSPNE’s northern jurisdiction, Jeannette Labrèche who represents the Timmins area.  This is Mrs. Labrèche second mandate as Vice-Chair.

Michel Faucon was elected second Vice-Chair for CSPNE’s southern jurisdiction.  This will be the first year as Vice-Chair for Faucon, a trustee representing Hearst.

The involvement and commitment of the school board trustees play a significant role in developing various initiatives for CSPNE, its schools, and school communities.
