Laurentian escarpment Conservation area HOSTS
FIRST ANNUAL conquer the ridge ENDURANCE challenge
IN SUPPORT OF SPECIAL OLYMPICS ONTARIO
Wednesday 6 May 2015 (North Bay, ON) – Laurentian Escarpment Conservation Area serves as the backdrop to North Bay’s first annual Conquer the Ridge Endurance Challenge! All new for 2015, Conquer the Ridge will set the stage as North Bay’s premier endurance challenge as participants take on more than a 5 km obstacle course designed to test their will all in support of Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Ontario. Influenced by back-breaking military training courses, Conquer the Ridge will feature multiple obstacles that will test each participant’s physical strength, mental toughness and spirit. Conquer the Ridge will feature a “competitive/timed” category to satisfy those with a competitive edge who want to see how their time stacks up against the rest and a “just for fun” category for participants who want to take on each obstacle at their own pace and see what Conquer the Ridge is all about!
Conquer the Ridge chairperson Constable Merv Shantz, North Bay Police Service, is looking forward to hosting such a great event that showcases the natural scenery of the Laurentian Escarpment all while raising money for such a great cause. Conquer the Ridge proudly supports the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Ontario and will also include a post-race celebration with entertainment and plenty of great vendors. Whether you plan on tackling the obstacles first-hand, cheering on participants as a spectator or showing your support as a volunteer, Conquer the Ridge will be an exciting event for everyone!
