Music has always been connected with Kiwanis and Thursday night was no different. The Nipissing Kiwanis Circle K Club hosted a “Warm Up To Winter” concert at the Nipissing University Theatre.

Students, family and friends were able to support the North Bay Community band led by Mary Thornton. The band’s members include NU Education students, Canadore students, NU Arts & Science students as well as community members.

Admission to the concert was a non-perishable food item for the NUSU Student Food Bank or a donation of winter clothing.

“We are appreciative of the outpouring of support and generosity of the community partnership, both here on campus and from the City of North Bay,” stated Circle K Club advisor Ralph Celentano. “We would like to say a special thanks to the Community band and Mary Thornton for sharing their amazing talent with us.”

This concert was also in partnership with NUSU/CSC Best Buddies Chapter as well as NUSU Cares.

“We are beyond thrilled to be working with the Kiwanis Circle K Club and the Best Buddies Chapter,” NUSU Cares Committee Member Rebecca Dubeau said. “Over 100 pounds of food was donated at the door and this will greatly benefit the NUSU Student Food Bank.”

Financial proceeds will be donated to the North Bay Santa Fund.
