Staff at the North Bay's Cogeco came together to support a good cause as part of the first Cogeco Community Involvement Day.

The theme chosen by employees for this year is Planting Roots in Our Communities, with tree planting activities being organized across all the communities.

Here in North Bay, Cogeco has partnered with Trees for Nipissing, the local grassroots organization that focuses on planting tree projects in the community, the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority, and Friends of Laurier Woods.

On Sunday, local Cogeco employees and their families planted 50 trees on the property owned by the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority and Friends of Laurier Woods on Old Callander Road.

“We are delighted that Cogeco is getting down and dirty with us to plant more trees for North Bay! We couldn’t do the Community Forest without their significant support and look forward to other local leaders joining Cogeco in building a safer environment” said Peggy Walsh Craig, Chair of Trees for Nipissing.
