College Board of Governors Welcomes New Board Members

Dave has served on Canadore’s Alumni Association Board of Directors and on the School of Sport and Recreation Program Advisory Committee.

News release:NORTH BAY, ONT.) – Next Tuesday, the Canadore College Board of Governors will welcome its new members to the first meeting of the year.

Nancy Ann Hedican, Member

Recipient of the North Bay Community Service Award for leadership, dedication and compassion, Nancy Ann Hedican brings years of extensive education experience to the Board. Passionate about the betterment of community, Hedican has served in various leadership positions within charities, schools and sporting teams.

Robert Nicholls, Member

Robert Nicholls is a Senior Financial Planning Advisor for Assante Capital Management Ltd.  A long-time resident of North Bay, Bob served on the Nipissing Kiwanis Club and he was involved with youth hockey, t-ball, and ultimate frisbee as coach and manager for more than 10 years.  Early in his career, Bob taught accounting at Canadore’s School of Business.  He currently serves as the Chairman of the Deacon’s Board for Harbour Church. 

Dave Saad, Member

As the Manager of Tourism and Recreation for the City of North Bay, Dave Saad was involved with planning, implementation, and evaluation of major community events and projects.  After retiring from the City, he operated a successful consulting business specializing in strategic planning, event management, and group facilitation.  Dave has served on Canadore’s Alumni Association Board of Directors and on the School of Sport and Recreation Program Advisory Committee.

Ravil Veli, Member

Ravil Veli was appointed CEO of the North Bay Public Library in 2014.  A graduate of McGill University’s Master of Library and Information Studies, he has held administrative roles in library services in a variety of higher education settings in the U.S.  Ravil has maintained memberships in professional associations and he has played an active role on numerous boards and committees throughout his career.  He is an advocate of information literacy for the lifelong learner and appreciates the value of e-solutions in both business practices and learning platforms.
