On August 16, before 4:30 a.m., members from the OPP Thessalon Detachment responded to an alarm at the Canada Post office in the Town of Richard's Landing.

A window at the front of the building was broken and the frame completely removed.

Two coins were stolen and are described as:

  • A pure silver coin branded as Glistening North ($20 value) showing a snowy area with a wolf as the main focus of the coin.
  • The second coin is called Celebration of Spring, Apple Blossoms ($15 value), which contained an image of an apple tree with blossoms with Canada 2018 written on it.
  •  Also stolen was a 25 pack of 85 cent stamps ($21.25 value). The stamps have an image of a dog.

A check of the area revealed that approximately four cars had also been broken into.
