The Board of Directors of the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), Nipissing Regional Branch have announced the appointment of Jenny Leblond as the new executive director effective Jan. 22. Leblond takes over from longtime executive director, Georges Kristolaitis, who will be retiring early in the new year.

“I am delighted to introduce Jenny as she has the leadership skills and experience to guide the branch as it strives to continually improve the quality of its services and the development of current and future partnerships,” said Board President Lyne Way-White.

A news release from the CMHA says, "With more than 16 years of management and leadership experience in the community mental health and addictions sector, Leblond is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in leading the full scope of service delivery, finance and human resources operations. As a current member of the CMHA Nipissing’s management group, she has the knowledge and expertise to successfully navigate the operational challenges of service delivery and the need for continued agency transformation.

"The board and staff members of CMHA Nipissing also want to thank Kristolaitis for his dedication and leadership to the association over the last 25 years. Kristolaitis has served as CMHA Nipissing’s executive director since 1991 and has overseen steady growth of the branch’s numerous services over the past two decades."

“During his career he has displayed an ardent commitment to the development of supportive housing options which include congregate and affordable single occupancy housing. Under his leadership, the branch has developed a keen sense of a service-first approach to not only help clients on their recovery journey but also for the care and wellbeing of staff,” said Way-White. “All of us wish Georges the very best in his future endeavours.”

The Canadian Mental Health Association, Nipissing Regional Branch is dedicated to building a community which accepts people with mental illness and promotes mental health. CMHA is a publicly funded charitable organization.
