Citizen complaint nails impaired driver

The complainant reported a westbound pick-up truck driving erratically and travelling at a high rate of speed

A citizen's complaint has taken an impaired driver off the road.

OPP say on July 13, at approximately 10:10 p.m., West Nipissing OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 17.

The complainant reported a westbound pick-up truck driving erratically and travelling at a high rate of speed.

Officers stopped the vehicle in Sturgeon Falls and determined the driver had been drinking alcohol. Further investigation revealed the driver was also wanted by North Bay Police for failing to appear in court.

As a result of the investigation, Marcel Morin, 37 from Thornloe, Ontario was arrested and charged with:  

  • Operation While Impaired - Alcohol, and
  • Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus). 

Morin was turned over to North Bay Police as a result of their warrant.  

He is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 30 in North Bay.
