The Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord (CSCFN) and the Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de l’Ontario (CSPNE) have joined forces to celebrate the 6th Franco-Ontarian Day, the 40th anniversary of the Franco-Ontarian flag and 400 years of French presence in the Nipissing region.

Big milestones are celebrated this year!

The celebration will be held on Friday, September 25th at 10 a.m. Several hundred students and members of the community will gather at the North Bay City Hall, located at 200, McIntyre Street East.

Together, they will parade along the streets of downtown North Bay, wearing green and white, the colours of the Franco-Ontarian flag. The Francophone delegation will travel down Wyld, Main, Fraser and McIntyre streets to end their procession at City Hall.

The mayor of North Bay, Mr. Al McDonald, has confirmed his presence at the raising of the Franco-Ontarian flag, which will be held at 10:30 a.m. at City Hall, and will be delivering a Proclamation.

Francophone music artist, André Varin, will also be putting on a traditional show.
