Catwalking ATV driver charged by police

As a result of the police investigation, a 15-year-old boy, from Wahnapitae, is charged

On October 7, at 6 p.m., an officer of the Nipissing Sudbury Detachment of the OPP was on patrol on Highway 17 in Wahnapitae. 

The officer saw an eastbound all-terrain vehicle driving down the centre lane of the highway while performing a stunt by riding on two wheels, a manoeuvre known as a catwalk.  

The officer followed and stopped the vehicle in Wahnapitae.  

As a result of police investigation, a 15-year-old boy, from Wahnapitae, is charged with:  

  • Drive motor vehicle-perform stunt
  • Driver motor vehicle - no licence

The teen was issued a summons and is scheduled to appear at the Provincial Offences Act Court on December 9.

The ATV was impounded for seven days.
