Calvin Township man charged with impaired

On April 10 Mattawa OPP were conducting a RIDE spot check on Highway 630 in Calvin Township, west of Mattawa.

At approximately 10 p.m., a vehicle approached and officers determined the driver had been drinking. The driver was arrested at the scene for impaired driving and taken back to the North Bay OPP detachment for further testing. 

Tracey Maxwell, 55, of Calvin Township, is charged with:

  • Operation while impaired 
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) 
  • Driving a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor 

The vehicle was impounded for seven days and the driver's license was suspended for 90 days. Maxwell was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on April 27.
