On Sunday, June 18th, following the Armed Forces Day and lead up to Canada’s 150th events, the Canadian Forces Snowbirds and Canadian Armed Forces Parachute Team, SkyHawks, ended the weekend’s celebrations by spending quality time with local Sea, Army and Air Cadets.

Approximately 150 cadets met with members of the demonstration teams, getting autographs and selfies.

“It is a great experience to be able to meet the Snowbirds and SkyHawks," said.Warrant Officer Second Class Ben MacNeil, "It was an amazing opportunity that I will remember forever.”

“We are eager to inspire all young cadets by demonstrating teamwork and taking the time to really show them what we do,” said Capt. Blake McNaughton, Snowbird 10 and Team Coordinator.

Throughout the year, the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces will support the Government of Canada in its Canada 150 celebration, participating in numerous events across the country.

The mission of the Cadet Program is to contribute to the development and preparation of youth for the transition to adulthood, enabling them to meet the challenges of modern society, through a dynamic, community-based program.
