It was a very wet, rainy morning at the annual Hospital Walk/Run this past Sunday, but this event is near and dear to the C21 Movers and Shakers hearts, and they really look forward to fundraising and helping with patient care support, even if it means walking in the rain!

The team from Century 21 Blue Sky Region Realty Inc. Brokerage has been participating and raising funds since 2013.

Since then, they have won the Community Team Challenge Award (most money raised) every year, and have won the Spirit Award most years. This year was no exception with the theme being Canada 150.

They marched in a sea of red and white, and some dressed up as famous Canadians such as Don Cherry, Shania Twain and a true Canadian Mountie.

Funds raised stay local, go towards new equipment that is needed here to better serve the patients. This year the focus is on cancer care which everyone has in some way or another been affected.

“You never know when you will be in need of our hospital, and this is an important event that can help us in our time of need,” said Jean Jamieson, an involved member of the hospital foundation, and Sales Representative at Century 21.

"The team at Century 21 Blue Sky have raised a total of $42,000 over the years. They accomplish this by hosting a soup competition called 'Ladle’s Up' in the early part of the year, as well as participate in 'Tag Day' in September, which is held at the doors of local grocery stores, Beer Stores and LCBO’s in order to kickstart their fundraising for this event every year. Additionally, they raise the rest in pledges."

Team C21 Movers and Shakers is comprised of Sales Representatives, admin staff, and even family and friends come out to participate. They are looking forward to next year and raising even more for this great foundation.
