The SJSH Bears archery team participated in the 2017 Ontario High School Archery Invitational Tournament in Richmond Hill, Ontario this past Wednesday, May 17th competing against archers from around the province.
This year the SJSH boys and girls limited and unlimited teams performed flawlessly, taking home gold in all four categories and securing the third consecutive sweep of these classes for SJSH. The school, the community coaches, and the Board are very proud of this accomplishment as with teams comprised of student athletes from grade 9 to grade 12, with some being brand new to the sport!
Teams and members are as follows: Female limited team – Katie Watson, Hannah Poulin, Mia Brodhagen, Arhiya Lamprecht; Male limited team – Ashton Richard, Michael Zhou, Damion SanCartier, Matthew Zhou, Avery Richard; Female unlimited team – Kendra Chirico, Brittany Stitt, Rebecca Charron, Trinity Howe, Mackenzie Chirico; Male unlimited team – Grant Walton, Tim Godsey, Everett Morgan, Wyatt Stitt, Jaden Mills.
To complement our team golds the following archers won individual medals as they too performed at the top of their categories: Katie Watson – gold female compound limited; Hannah Poulin - silver female compound limited; Mia Brodhagen - bronze female compound limited; Ashton Richard – gold male compound limited; Michael Zhou – bronze male compound limited.
