B&E suspect arrested

Evidence was found at the scene and was seized for forensic examination by the OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit

On July 20,  OPP received a call about a break and enter that had occurred at a house in Powassan.  

The residents had come home to find their door pried open and numerous jewellery items missing. 

Officers from the Powassan Detachment conducted an investigation. A Scenes of Crime Officer also attended to examine the scene.   

Evidence was found at the scene and was seized for forensic examination by the OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit. 

As a result of the police investigation, Patrick Marleau, age 42, of West Nipissing, has been arrested and charged with the following:

  • Break and Enter a Place - Commit Indictable Offence, and
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order 

Marleau was held in custody for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice, North Bay, today.
