Assault victim suffers minor injuries

As a result of the investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained

On November 27, members of the Nipissing West Detachment of the OPP received a report of an assault that occurred on November 25, at a residence on Highway 17 in Sturgeon Falls.

Investigation revealed an argument occurred between two people and one person was subsequently assaulted, threatened and confined. The victim suffered minor injuries.

As a result of the investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained. 

On the morning of December 4, the accused turned himself into police and was arrested. 

Daniel Tanguay, 29, of no fixed address, is charged with:

  •  Assault
  • Uttering Threats - Cause Bodily Harm
  • Uttering Threats - Damage Property
  • Forcible Confinement

Tanguay was held in custody for a bail hearing.
