Painter, print-maker and educator, Elizabeth McQueen will be the next featured artist in the AOM Gallery at Art on Main.

Her exhibition of lino-cut prints titled Signs of Life, the hobo serieswill run from October 10th until November 1, 2014

Hobo  signs depict depression era symbols used by the homeless to advise others where they can get food, a bed or work or, and perhaps more importantly, warn against those who might cause them harm. A cat symbol carried the message; "A kind lady lives here." They speak of the good-will between the most destitute of individuals and contain a lesson that information must be shared for everyone's survival.

The opening reception for Signs of Life takes place on Friday, October 10th from 7 to 9 pm.  The artist will present a talk titledKings of the Road at 8 pm.
