The Fall 2016 edition of the ART JAM is happening this Saturday and Sunday. This family friendly event has expanded to two days and will feature over 50 local and regional artists. The old Tweedsmuir Public School will serve as a weekend hub to enable a wide array of site-specific art projects, festivals, podcasts, new media and art projects. On Saturday from 6PM to 9PM, come see live entertainment featuring the drumming talents of Rob Joanisse in action with his new project Living Room and performing a spontaneous solo work. Other performers showcasing on Saturday evening are Matt Thibeault, Patricia Rodi, Esther Pennell, Absoguac, DJ Jordaan, DJ Shim, DJ Global Groove, Cristina Lella and We Claim Anonymity. The Makers’ Fair will take place on Sunday from 10AM to 2PM and feature works by local artists such as Rodney St. Dennis, Jana Brogan, Reno Couchie, Penny Jones, Ashleigh Couchie, Treehouse Boutique’s Patricia Rodi, Steven Kudla, Lori Grace Nickerson, Imogen Clendinning, Mandy Labatt, Natasha Fenton, Kristen’s Creations, Dermot Wilson, Cameron Armstrong and Russell Noganosh.

The ART JAM is also an Open House for RFP Media, Richard Fortin's new promotion production agency, recording studio and creation space.

The Nipissing Region Curatorial Collective (NRCC) is a new group of local artists dedicated to creating arts projects across the region and to paying all artists professional fees for the public exhibition of their work. Their new project studio space will be open throughout the weekend.

The ART JAM is a benefit and fundraiser for two local community organizations.  Many feel Vinyasa Yoga is a vital component of the cultural spirit of North Bay. Their community has identified a need for a warmer, more responsive floor for their new space. This will add to the ambience of the studio and be conducive to a more relaxing and pleasurable experience for yoga practitioners and for the other groups who use the space. Proceeds from event will go towards the purchase and installation of this new floor.

Proceeds will also go to the Nipissing Region Curatorial Collective (NRCC).
