Canadore College hosted its first applied research and entrepreneurship forum today.

Ryan Drouin, Manager of the Centre for Career Development told CKAT the forum was, "To showcase the work of our students as it relates to applied research and entrepreneurial opportunities and also connect them with the community, whether it's business owners or community members coming in to see the different projects Canadore College has worked on in the past and see the capabilities that we have have to work on in the future.

"We have students that have started their own businesses and we are showcasing them."

"The symposium is an opportunity for students, industry, and agencies to learn about Canadore’s involvement in innovative experiential learning, research, and entrepreneurial activities, all of which accelerate community growth and expansion," says a college news release.

The event’s agenda includes presentations on current projects, social enterprise, student start-ups, Indigenous research and funding programs, as well as networking opportunities.
