Algonquin Regiment in army reserve exercise with 450 Helicopter Squadron

The Regiment currently has six troops serving in Latvia as part of Operation Reassurance

The Algonquin Regiment (Northern Pioneers) will be working with 450 Helicopter Squadron to conduct an escape and evasion exercise at CFTC Burwash near Sudbury from October 30 to November 1. 

The Helicopters will be landing at the airport in North Bay and Timmins on Friday to pick up troops from the Regiment and then transport them to Sudbury Armoury before bringing them into the training area in Burwash.  The troops will be returned via Helicopter to North Bay and Timmins on Sunday. 

The Algonquin Regiment is an Army Reserve Regiment that has been in existence since 1900. 

The Regiment is currently active in North Bay and Timmins.  Its northern soldiers have deployed during World War I, World War II, Cypress, Somalia, Bosnia, various peace support missions, and Afghanistan.  

The Regiment currently has six troops serving in Latvia as part of Operation Reassurance.
