After 39 years Sherry Carnevale retires. New executive director named for Community Living

Sherry Carnevale is retiring from Community Living.

Sherry Carnevale, Executive Director has announced her retirement effective April 29.

For 39 years, Carnevale has dedicated her career to the organization and has had an essential role in the development and success of Community Living North Bay.  

"Much of this success has been marked through advocacy in our community, building relationships with families, employees, the union and most recently, exceptionally navigating through a very challenging pandemic," says Bonnie Roynon, President. "Sherry has steered CLNB to be a leader in our community and the developmental services sector. "

Peter Fitzpatrick is Community Living North Bay’s new Executive Director. 

"Fitzpatrick brings a wealth of administrative and leadership experience, as well as a professional and personal commitment, to CLNB and the people and community we serve," added Roynon.

Fitzpatrick has completed a long career with the Ontario Public Service and, more recently, the British Columbia justice sector. Notable positions include Manager of Court Operations, Kingston; Academic Chair, Police and Public Safety Institute, Algonquin College; and Warden, Vancouver Island Regional Correctional Centre.

"We can never thank Sherry enough for the dedication, expertise, and leadership that she invested in CLNB for 39 years," says Roynon. "While Sherry will be missed, we are enthusiastic for the next chapter in the CLNB story of success, and service to our community."
