Additional charges laid in Nipissing First Nation assault

As a result of the investigation, a 49-year-old male from Nipissing First Nation, was charged with sexual assault

OPP have laid additional charges after an assault occurred on Nipissing First Nation last week.

On July 10, the North Bay OPP Crime Unit, the OPP's Critical Incident Commander, Tactics and Rescue Unit, Crisis Negotiator, North East Region Canine Unit and the North East Region Emergency Response Team, were called to Little Lakes Road on Nipissing First Nation, to execute a search warrant. 

As a result of the investigation, a 49-year-old male from Nipissing First Nation, was charged with sexual assault.

On July 15, after further investigation, the male was also charged with the following:

  • Assault, and,
  • Sexual Assault.

The OPP says it will not be releasing the name in order to protect the identity of the victim.
