$5,000 in bursaries available

Yes Employment Services, through its Yes Training Trust Fund (YTTF), will once again be awarding 10 bursaries of $500 each to area youth who have made special career achievements over the past year.  These bursaries are for students, young workers or young entrepreneurs (up to 29 years of age) who:

  • face significant challenges
  • have had to overcome, or will have to overcome, one or more obstacles to realize their career goal
  • have identified their career path or have started on the journey towards their career path.  

Young people who would like to apply for this bursary should submit an essay of no more than 200 words that includes a short autobiography, identification of their chosen career path, challenges they have, or will have, to surmount and a description of how this bursary will assist in the attainment of their career goal. 

All submissions will be rated on the following criteria:

   1.  The challenges are significant and clearly described – 40% of points available

   2.  The plans to reach the stated goals are clearly identified and mapped out – 30% of points available

   3.  The essay speaks clearly of the chosen career path – 20% of points available

   4.  The use for the bursary is identified and is compelling – 10% of points available
