The 30th Annual Evening of Applause is being held tonight in the auditorium at St. Joseph-Scollard Hall.

The doors open at 6 p.m. with the Student Digital Art Gallery. The event runs 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. The public is welcome to attend. There is no charge.

At tonight's event, seventeen students will be honoured as Students Who Make a Difference, as will four winners of the Anti-racism Poster & Artwork contest.

Amanda Mathias-Mizzi will also be inducted into Nipissing District's Human Rights Hall of Fame.

Attendees will enjoy student performances on the theme of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, which is March 21st each year.

This local event is a partnership between the North Bay & District Multicultural Centre, North Bay Newcomer Network, Nipissing–Parry Sound Catholic District School Board, Conseil scolaire public du nord-est, Near North District School Board, Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord, and Canadore College.
