This week is the last chance for journalism students to apply for Village Media’s new Journalism Scholarship program.
We are thrilled to offer this opportunity to the journalists of tomorrow. This initiative is made possible by the support of our +members who help us to continue to invest in the growth and sustainability of local journalism.
Students who are enrolled in a journalism program for the fall are invited to submit an essay for a chance to receive a $1,000 scholarship toward their post-secondary education.
Entries must be submitted by the end of day on August 27, 2021. Full details and submission rules are here.

Students enrolled in a post-secondary journalism program starting this September.
How do you submit your application for the scholarship?
You can enter by submitting an essay (between 500 - 1000 words) on the importance of local journalism, as well as your information, here.
Recipients will have a profile featuring them (including their photo and essay) published on our Village Media websites.A sincere thank you to our BayToday+ members for helping to fund local journalism, whether that's broadening local coverage, adding new jobs, or creating scholarships like this for the next generation of reporters.
