North Bay has Northern Idol wild card

Amanda Lanouette, of North Bay, will be going to the Northern Idol finals in Sudbury this weekend as the wild card entrant. Lanouette, 23, found out the good news earlier today.

North Bay firefighters were called to the scene of what they believed to be a mattress fire. The call came in close to 5 p.m. at 413 William Street. Smoke was visible at the house but firefighters didn't find any flames.
