Two Scarborough, Ont. men have survived four hours in turbulent Lake Nipissing waters after their canoe capsized. Jacob Pawlowski and Steven Kennedy, both 20, were rushed to shore and sent to North Bay General Hospital via ambulance.

Missing canoeists located

Two canoeists missing on Lake Nipissing have been located by another boater in a pleasure craft. They were located on Lake Nipissing approximately two kilometres east of Rankin Island.

The OPP, North Bay detachment, is currently on Lake Nipissing looking for two males in a yellow canoe last seen around noon hour near Waltonian Drive area. They are described as ages 19 and 20, one Caucasian male and one non-Caucasian.
