Drinking water advisory for base, airport section of city

A drinking water advisory has been issued by Medical Officer of Health Dr. Catherine Whiting for all residents and properties on and north of Carmichael Drive including Littledown LAnd and Airport Road east of Carmichael.

Water problem at CFB North Bay

There is a water problem at CFB North Bay, BayToday.ca has learned, and employees there are being told not to drink it. BayToday.ca has also found out Mayor Vic Fedeli is now discussing the matter with Medical Officer of Health Dr. Catharine Whiting.

Day of Mourning today for killed or injured workers

A monument honouring people killed or injured on the job will be unveiled at 10:15 this morning outside North Bay city hall, as part of the Day of Mourning services.

A water garden planned by Community Waterfront Friends will eliminate the E coli bacteria which has caused Marathon Beach to be closed in the past, CWF chairman Rod Johnston told North Bay’s Engineering and Works committee Monday night.

Body found in ditch

The body of a dead man has been discovered in a ditch off Hwy 11 in Strong Township. Ontario Provincial Police from the Almaguin Highlands detachment are investigating and say no identification papers were found near the body.
