The 2015 North Bay Special Olympics Ontario Winter Games are set to begin in 20 days. At a media conference on Friday morning, excited athletes listened as the 2015 Special Olympics Winter Games officials introduced the volunteer jerseys.

Acting on a traffic complaint, West Parry Sound OPP stopped a car on Highway 400 in Parry Sound January 1, at 3 a.m. They found more than expected.

OPP say Highway 17 West from Batchawana Bay to Wawa was closed at 12:30 this afternoon due to weather conditions. A detour is Highway 101 and Hwy 129. Estimated duration of the highway closure is unknown.

In December 2013 the West Parry Sound OPP were called to investigate the theft of Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG) lottery tickets at the Nobel ESSO Gas Station.

A North Bay man faces charges following a robbery at a pharmacy on Lakeshore Drive. City police say that yesterday evening, at approximately 7:15, a man tried to rob a pharmacy on Algonquin Avenue, but was unsuccessful and fled.
