The Studio hosted their 6th annual Zumbathon for Cystic Fibrosis at Alliance French Immersion Public School on Friday night.

The event included more than 120 people dancing to raise funds and awareness for Cystic Fibrosis.

Over $12,000 was raised towards research and awareness and hopefully creating a world without CF.

Currently, 143 therapies are in the development, 60 of them are currently in clinical trials and of the 60, 45 are disease modifiers.

Officials say this would not be possible without the funds raised during events like this Zumbathon.

The next hurdle in awareness is getting the government to recognize the need to fund access to certain pharmaceutical therapies which are currently available, but extremely unaffordable for Canadian CF families. For more information concerning Orkambi, click here here
