Parry Sound OPP report they stopped a couple of lead-footed motorists the past couple of days.

Today, shortly before 5 a.m. an officer was on general patrol on Highway 69 in Wall Bridge Township when he saw a vehicle travelling 178 kilometres per hour in a 90 kilometre per hour zone.

A traffic stop was initiated.

As a result, Marcus Wilson, 20, from Brampton was charged with:

  • Race motor vehicle - Excessive speed

His licence was suspended for seven days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Meanwhile, a Bracebridge man faces charges of racing after being clocked at 143 kilometres per hour in a 90 kilometre per hour zone on Highway 69 near Parry Sound.

Yesterday, shortly before 8 p.m., a member of the West Parry Sound OPP was on general patrol on Highway 69 in Henvey Township when the officer saw the car whiz by.

Police pulled the car over.

At a result, Jonathon Mitchell, 24, from Bracebridge was charged with:

  • Race motor vehicle - Excessive speed

His licence was suspended for seven days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
