Youths arrested and stolen property recovered

At 2:34am 17th Dec a 14yr old male and a 15 yr old male were arrested at Fisher St and Worthington St in possession of stolen property.

Investigation revealed that they had been stealing from vehicles. Overnight Saturday, they had gone through vehicles in the pinewood area particularly the Tackaberry and Birchwood areas. Overnight on Sunday they went through vehicles between Cassells and Fisher Sts.

Property recovered included a laptop, numerous Christmas gifts and clothing, 2 watches, 4 wallets and contents, 2 purses and contents, 3 cell phones, several packs of cigarettes, cash, coin, Canadian tire money and other miscellaneous items.

Both youths have been charged with numerous counts of possession of property obtained by crime and held in custody for bail hearings.

Most of the thefts were from unlocked vehicles.

The North Bay Police wish to caution the public about leaving their vehicles unlocked regardless of the location. Valuables should never be left in unattended vehicles and when circumstances make it necessary then lock them in the trunk.

Anyone in those areas who had their vehicle entered over the weekend and has property missing is asked to contact the North Bay Police at 705-497-5589.
