The upcoming "My Y" is Resilient campaign has the goal to raise $1,000,000

The alarm bell is being rung at the YMCA  in North Bay and Sudbury, raise a million dollars in each city or risk losing the pool and fitness centre.

It's so serious that the Y is holding a news conference next Wednesday morning to launch what is being called, "My Y is resiliant." with the goal of raising $2,000,000 in northeastern Ontario.

"The YMCA faces the risk of closure in our Health, Fitness and Aquatics Centres. To date, the YMCA has lost over $3,000,000 in revenue due to the COVID-19 pandemic," says Nicole Beattie, VP of Philanthropy. " The My Y is Resilient campaign will help ensure that the YMCA can remain strong, resilient and able to continue supporting communities for years to come."

Helen Francis, YMCA President will join Beattie and members from the YMCA Board of Directors.for the news conference where they will share details of the upcoming My Y is Resilient campaign with the goal to raise $1,000,000 in each community of Sudbury and North Bay.

BayToday reached out to Beattie this afternoon for additional details but was unable to make contact.
