Police say they've arrested three women for stealing from their own family member.

On numerous occasions from June 2015 to March 2016 all three, who are related to each other, have been stealing and forging cheques from a family member and cashing them for personal gain.

The forged cheques totaled over $20,000.

Following an investigation into a fraud complaint in early April, North Bay Police arrested and charged three women.

A 30-year old North Bay woman was charged with:

  • One count of fraud over $5000; and
  • 16 counts of uttering forged documents.

A 25-year old North Bay woman was charged with:

  • One count of fraud under $5000; and
  • One count of uttering forged documents.

A 24-year old North Bay woman was charged with:

  • One count of fraud over $5000; and
  • 17 counts of uttering forged documents.

Police say in the interest of protecting the identity of the victim, the North Bay Police Service will not be releasing the names of the accused, all of whom were released from custody with court appearances scheduled for June 21st.
