Woman in Algonquin accident dies in hospital

Police requesting that any person who witnessed the collision contact them.

North Bay Police said in a news release this morning that the 74-year old female pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle while crossing Algonquin at Greenwood on Wednesday afternoon, died in a Sudbury hospital yesterday afternoon.

The man and woman involved in the accident were from Temiscaming.

The investigation continues and police are looking for witnesses.

"Police requests that any person who witnessed the collision who has not yet provided a statement to police, to contact the North Bay Police Service by telephone at 705-497-5555 or by attending police headquarters at 135 Princess Street West. The police station is open from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m., seven days per week,", says the release.

An 80 year old North Bay man has already died of his injuries after that traffic accident on Algonquin Ave.

Shortly after 2 p.m. Wednesay the male driver of an SUV travelling north on Algonquin Avenue at Greenwood struck an 80-year old North Bay man and a 74-year old North Bay woman who were both on foot, crossing Algonquin Avenue from a parking lot on the east side towards a medical building on the west side.
