When will summer end?

'Going forward throughout the rest of September and into October we are expecting more typical fall weather which should have more ups and downs versus the strong heat and humidity that we have been experiencing'

The question is how long is this crazy mid-summer like weather expected to persist in the North Bay area?

Well, according to Weather Network Meteorologist Erin Wenckstern, the conditions prove we have been spoiled weather-wise.

“In most of eastern Ontario we have had a continuation of summer heat and humidity across the area with only a brief taste of fall so far,” she stated.

Wenckstern and the Weather Network team released the fall forecast today.

“Going forward throughout the rest of September and into October we are expecting more typical fall weather which should have more ups and downs versus the strong heat and humidity that we have been experiencing.”

Wenckstern says that will be changing though as we head towards the weekend as the humidity will drop when a cold front works its way through the region.

However, she believes it will be a gentle slide into fall despite the fact that the summer heat is likely behind us.

“We are still looking at very nice fall weather throughout September and then going into October we start to transition more to fall like weather where near to below fall-like seasonal temperatures look to dominate,” she added.

As for the fall colours, Wenckstern expects the season to be delayed a bit thanks to the warmth in September.

“We expect it to be very good fall colours conditions for fall viewing.”
