What name do you call the company that plows our highways?

Well, over the past few years motorists have called it plenty of names, but probably not this one --- "Broadspectrum".

But now Transfield will go under that name.

"Transfield Services currently operates two Area Maintenance Contracts for the Ministry of Transportation," says a news release from the company.

The contracts are in the North Bay and Sault Ste Marie areas. The full fleet will be displaying the new logos by February 5th.

"This is a name change only and there will be no impact to day-to-day maintenance operations in North Bay and Sault Ste Marie areas. The public will see the Broadspectrum name added to the contractor’s equipment and new contractor identification signs put up at patrol yards, rest areas and the contract limits of the North Bay and Sault Ste Marie Area Maintenance Contract areas.”

The company has come under fire in recent years for the way it maintains highways during winter snowfall and ice conditions.
