West Nipissing Police kept busy investigating drug offences

The  over the last few days.

On Friday January 24th police executed a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act search warrant at a Nipissing Street residence in Sturgeon Falls.

At approximately 3:00 pm police entered the residence and took two men into custody. The residence was searched and police located, non-prescribed oxycodone pills, methamphetamine pills, marijuana, non-prescribed methadone, crack cocaine, marijuana plants, cash and two handguns handgun.

Thirty four year old Richard Danis of Sturgeon Falls faces the following charges; five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of a firearm while prohibited, unauthorized possession of a firearm, carless storage of a firearm, production of a controlled substance and possession of a property obtained.

On January 25th WNPS executed a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act search warrant at a second Nipissing Street residence in Sturgeon Falls. Police located a small amount of marijuana, charged with possession of a controlled substance is thirty seven year old Joseph Nixon.

On January 26th, WNPS executed a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act search warrant at a Richer Road residence in Crystal Falls. The search of the premises was conducted at which time police located 6.1 kilograms (13.5 lbs) of marijuana, crack cocaine,  non-prescribed oxycodone pills, cash and assorted drug paraphernalia.

Forty three year old James Rockburn has been charged with, three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled substance, three counts of failing to comply with conditions of a recognizance, and one count of possession of property obtained by crime.

Fifty four year old Donna Wood has been charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled substance and one count of property obtained by crime.

Police estimate the street value of the drugs seized over the last few days to be in excess of $65,000.
