A witness took this graphic photo of a fire that took place on First Nation’s land east of Sturgeon Falls this afternoon.

A witness says no one was in the building, which appears to be a garage that went up in flames on Veterans Road in Garden Village which runs parallel to Highway 17 and across the highway from the Laurentide Golf Club turnoff at Golf Course Road.

Witness John Ananda, photographed the blaze Saturday afternoon.

However, reports indicate the Jocko Point and Nipissing First Nation Volunteer Fire Departments arrived at the scene in less than 30 minutes.

Witnesses say the homeowner was burning brush and that fire got out of control.
